Unit 2

The Journey meditation was very relaxing and seemed to really bring together mind and body.  My arms and hands did get heavy and warm but was still able to lift them even when told we shouldn't be able to.  Maybe that is my mind trying to be stubborn.  It did take a few seconds for my body to respond to my mind saying to lift them up.  The breathing was great and I am familiar with this type of breathing technique with yoga.  I have found that yoga and meditation is very healing to all areas of a person and should be utilized more in the medical community.

  1. The mind is very powerful! The more you open it up the better the results. I love trying new meditations to see how they work, It always amazes me what the mind can do,

  2. Hi Niki,

I like the title of your blog and look forward to your future posts. It’s nice to put a face with the name . I am also on a journey to a healthier way of living and thinking…I am currently taking baby steps.

  3. I was surprised that I did feel my arms and hands get 'heavier'. I felt that my fingers were even tingly. I too was able to lift my arms, but I did feel that it did take a conscious effort on my part to lift them.

I would really like to get back into taking yoga. I do not really have the time to take a yoga class. Sounds like an excuse, but it is true. There is so much going on in my life that I can not seem to sneak away to get to yoga. I do not just want to go once in awhile, but would really like to make it a routine in my life. I have tried to do yoga at home, but it is not the same. I do not get the same effect and benefit that I do when I take a yoga class at a studio. Especially if you have a great instructor.

  4. Hello Nikki,

I agree that yoga and meditation are similar allowing the body to become stress free through different techniques. It is so important that we learn to take some time to clam ourselves for better health and relieve of mental and physical stresses we endure on a daily basis. I think often time many take be healthy for granted and sometimes ignore signs and warning to pay attention to our health; not just physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. Great Post! Great blog name by the way!

  5. Hello Nikki,

I too felt that I was able to move my arms and hands but I can say I did feel them getting warm and heavier. I think it is hard for us to completely shut off our minds and be completely free of thought. Also I have done yoga in the past and after every yoga workout or what not I have felt better than I did when I went in. I have also felt lighter and like my body could move in many different ways. LOL
